Code of ethics
Headshots by Gareth works to make portrait sessions professional, respectful, and practical for the people being photographed and the organizations arranging the session.
Respectful direction
Sessions are directed with respect for gender, race, sexuality, body type, age, disability, neurotype, and professional background. Direction should help people look prepared and like themselves without forcing a narrow idea of professionalism.
Clear planning
Before a project, Gareth clarifies the number of people, location, timing, image usage, setup needs, delivery expectations, and whether additional styling support would help.
Privacy and dignity
Images and personal details should be handled with care. For schools, teams, organizations, and individuals, the photography process should avoid unnecessary pressure, embarrassment, or assumptions about how someone should present.
Honest communication
The site should not rely on fake testimonials, unsupported client claims, invented awards, or set fees that do not fit the actual project. If a detail matters to a client, it should be discussed directly before booking.
