Anyway, after 40 years of friends giving me gifts, it’s time for me to give away 40 gifts to complete strangers. That could be you!

If you would like to be on the receiving end of a $500-headshot-session for only $40, please fill out the form below for the opportunity to be selected to win 1-of-40 $40 headshot sessions in my photography studio, Redfern Studio, located in Mott Haven, Bronx (just one stop from Harlem).

All headshots will be taken against Savage Universal Seamless Background Paper if you have a colour preference let me know, we have roughly 25 colours in the studio already.

Everyone who has a headshot session with Headshots by Gareth or Gareth Shaw Photography in May or June 2021 and is legally eligible may enter into the Big Birthday Bonus Prize Contest (BBBP) to win an amazing 4-hr Portrait, Lifestyle or Branding session with a Professional Hair and Makeup artist in my studio, including 5 professionally-retouched images and 1 x 16×20″ Metal or Framed Wall Art Print.

• All eligible headshots will be uploaded to Instagram @headshotsbygareth, most likes wins!

Terms & Conditions:

• 1 (one) submission per person
• 40for40 is open to all US Citizens and Legal Permanent Residents
• No purchase necessary to enter 40for40
• 40for40 winners will be selected by a panel appointed by Gareth Redfern-Shaw
• Entries must be received by Saturday May 29th 11:59pm (EST)¹
• Winners will be announced Sunday May 30th 8:00pm (EST)
• Your Consultation and Headshot Session dates must be booked in by Friday, June 4th 2021 11:59 PM
  • After this time your slot will be transferred to a Runner-up
  • Booked in means, dates have been scheduled to occur within these date ranges:
    • Consultation – Monday, May 31st to Wednesday, June 30th 2021
    • Session – Saturday, June 5th to Saturday, July 3rd 2021
• Your $40 session²:
  • must occur by Saturday, July 3rd 2021
  • will be held at Redfern Studio, Mott Haven, Bronx
  • will include a 40-min phone call/FaceTime pre-consultation
  • will last around 120 minutes, 60 minutes for prep and 60 minutes for shooting
  • will include 1-3 looks, time-dependent
  • includes 1 professionally retouched headshot and its associated image licence
  • includes all Unedited images for personal use only
    • Personal use only means:
      • you are given free and unlicensed use of the photographs, but only for non-commercial and non-profit uses
      • you can make your own copies, but you cannot distribute them
  • will NOT include Hair and Makeup³
• Additional full Unedited images rights add-on is available for $85
• Additional professionally retouched headshots from this session are $40 each
• Participants must be 18 years of age or older on the day of the session
• 40 entries must be received for the 40for40, for the Big Birthday Bonus Prize to be given away
• Prizes are non-transferable
• Prizes cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers or vouchers
• There is no cash alternative to any part of the offer, competition, or prize
• Headshot session may be rescheduled once for free, additional rescheduling is $40 per change
• All persons entering the studio must abide by Redfern Studio’s COVID safety protocols
• All subjects agree to Gareth Shaw Photography’s model release, allowing images to be used for marketing purposes
• Winners agree to be tagged on Instagram, listed on our websites and used in marketing materials

¹ All dates and times listed are in EST (Eastern Standard Time)
² The $40 session fee is due at the time of booking
³ If needed, you may hire one of our makeup artists or bring your own

Big Birthday Bonus Prize details:

• Eligible participants: 40for40 winners, individuals who completed a headshot session with Headshots By Gareth or Gareth Shaw Photography by Saturday, July 3rd 2021
• 1 (one) headshot per participant
• BBBP is open to US Citizens
• BBBP may be open to Non-US Citizen
  • Participants accept full responsibility for ensuring eligibility according to their home countries laws and tax regulations
  • Participants agree to indemnify Headshots by Gareth and Gareth Shaw Photography concerning local or home country tax appraisals
• How to win:
  • All headshots will be scheduled to be uploaded to Instagram at the same time on the same day
  • All participants will be notified by email of the date and time of the upload date at least 24-hrs before the upload to Instagram
  • The participants will then have 7 days to get as many likes on their headshot on @headshotsbygareth as they can
  • On the 7th day after the upload, at 8 pm the total number of likes per photo will be screengrabbed, counted and announced
  • The photo with the most likes will win the Big Birthday Bonus Prize
  • In the event of a draw:
    • a further 24 hours will be added for the top drawing images
    • the total number of likes per photo will be screengrabbed, counted and announced
  • In the event of a second draw:
    • the winner will be selected by a panel appointed by Gareth Redfern-Shaw based on the panels’ favourite comment(s)
• Prize includes:
  • 4-hr Portrait, Lifestyle, or Branding session in my Bronx Studio
  • Professional Hair and Makeup Artist chosen from photographer-approved artists
  • As many looks as you would like (time-dependent)
  • 1-hr phone call/FaceTime consultation including shared Pinterest mood/inspiration board
  • 5 x Professionally Retouched Images
  • Unlimited usage rights to all Unedited Images provided to the winner
  • 1 x 16×20″ Metal or Framed Wall Art Print
• All decisions are final and may not be contested

Terms and Conditions may be changed at the sole discretion of Gareth Redfern-Shaw and his associates, all participants will be notified of the changes and may choose to continue participating.

Data Processing
All personal data will be stored in accordance with our GDPR data protection rules. You may request a copy of any and all data stored about you or request that your data be permanently deleted if you are member of the EU.

Governing Law
This Agreement will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, regardless of the laws that might otherwise govern under applicable principles of conflicts of law.

Choice of Forum and Consent to Personal Jurisdiction
The parties agree that the venue for any action related to this Agreement shall be the state and/or federal courts located in Bronx County, ew York, as applicable, and the parties irrevocably submit to the jurisdiction of said courts.

Waiver of Jury Trial
THE PARTIES IRREVOCABLY WAIVE TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW ANY AND ALL RIGHT TO TRIAL BY JURY IN ANY LEGAL PROCEEDING ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THIS AGREEMENT.

Entire Agreement
This Agreement constitutes the full and entire understanding and agreement between the parties with respect to the subject matter.
