What to Wear for Corporate Headshots Without Looking Stiff
The best corporate headshot wardrobe supports the person instead of taking over the image. You want clothing that fits the role, the company, and the way the image will be used.
Start with context
A finance bio, nonprofit staff page, tech company profile, and speaker headshot do not need the same level of formality. Think about the audience first, then choose clothing that feels credible in that context.
Fit matters more than formality
A simple shirt or jacket that fits well usually photographs better than a formal outfit that pulls, gapes, or needs constant fixing. Try the outfit sitting and standing before the session.
Use color with intention
Solid colors are often easiest. Mid-tones, jewel tones, soft neutrals, and textured layers can add polish without distraction. Avoid tiny high-contrast patterns that can shimmer on camera.
Bring options
If time allows, bring one safer option and one option with more personality. For team days, leaders may want a more polished option while staff use a consistent wardrobe guide.
Respect personal presentation
Wardrobe guidance should support gender expression, body comfort, cultural context, and professional goals. The point is not to force one version of professionalism onto everyone.

Plan the next step
Tell Gareth what you need photographed, how many people are involved, and where the images will be used. He can recommend a structure that fits the project.
