Process

What to Expect

Good headshots are easier when the process is clear. The session is planned around the people being photographed, the location, the schedule, and how the final images will be used.

1. Plan the setup

We define the number of people, location, background, timing, image usage, delivery needs, and whether styling support should be added.

2. Build the schedule

For teams and schools, the schedule balances efficiency with enough direction for people to settle into the camera.

3. Photograph with direction

Gareth gives practical posing, expression, posture, and reset guidance so people are not left guessing.

4. Review and select

Selection can be planned around the workflow: individual choice, team review, proofing, or a simpler delivery process.

5. Retouch with purpose

Retouching scope is agreed around the project. The goal is a polished image that still looks like the person.

6. Deliver for real use

Delivery is planned around profile images, staff directories, school needs, press, websites, LinkedIn, and other final uses.

Timing

Efficient does not have to mean rushed.

Some team workflows can move quickly with one background and a clear schedule. For many people, five minutes is not enough time to relax, understand direction, and get a useful expression.

The right pace depends on the number of people, how consistent the images need to be, and whether each person needs review time.
